The Whitney Houston funeral arrangements in Newark, New Jersey could be one of the biggest “celebrity” funerals of all time.
The funeral even has a celeb guest list featuring Kevin Coster, Bobby Brown,
Oprah Winfrey, Ray J, Brandy, Clive Davis, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Bill Cosby, Chaka Khan, Bebe and CeCe Winans, Diane Warren, Darlene Love, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Antonio “L.A.” Reid, etc. Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder will perform at the service.
Houston’s family officially sent Bobby Brown an invitation to the funeral even though some family members did not want him to attend his ex-wife’s burial.
The arrangements have gotten so out of hand it will be broadcast on cable television. E! Network announced a few hours ago that they will broadcast the funeral titled “Whitney Houston: The Funeral,” beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET/ 8:30 a.m. PT on Saturday.
According to USA Today, “As part of the special, anchor Jason Kennedy will be joined by E!’s Chief News Correspondent Ken Baker and E! Online’s Senior Editor Marc Malkin to report on the latest details surrounding Houston’s death and her funeral.
The channel will air uninterrupted live coverage from inside the New Hope Baptist Church and offer up-to-the-minute details via the E! Online Twitter feed.
Viewers are encouraged to join in the Twitter conversation by using the hashtag #WhitneyTributes and select Tweets will be posted live on-air. Following the funeral, Kennedy and Baker will recap the events of the day, report on attendees, eulogies and reactions, and talk about what’s next for all those who Whitney left behind.”
On Tuesday Bobby Brown spoke with ABC News and denied reports of being banned from Whitney Houston’s funeral service, stating that he has been with his daughter Bobbi Kristina since Sunday.
“My daughter Bobbi Kristina is doing much better,” Brown said in an email statement to ABCNews.com. “We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi Kristina. She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother’s death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected.”
