Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer and judge of “So You Think You Can Dance,” was highly disappointed after speaking with FOX about the upcoming summer season.
Due to not-so-phenomenal TV ratings FOX has canceled the Results Show, scaling down to one episode of “So You Think You Can Dance” per week.
Nigel responded to the cancellation via Twitter saying, “FOX have canceled the Results Show so I will have to change the format of #SYTYCD. At least we have another season at the end of MAY.”
FOX generally airs 2 episodes of “So You Think You Can Dance” per week. The change might confuse fans but the network is positive a few slight alterations will work out for the best.
Nigel continued to say, “I’m certainly not mad at FOX they have supported #SYTYCD FOR 9 seasons. With the help of (Fox president of alternative entertainment) Mike Darnell I think we have some great new ideas.”
The first series of “So You Think You Can Dance” premiered on July 20, 2005 as an American dance competition and reality show created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe.
