Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross And Jay Z Win Big At The BET Hip Hop Awards 2010

Nicki Minaj scored big at the BET Awards in Atlanta this past Saturday October 2, 2010.  She showed everyone why she’s considered the top hip hop artist the game right now.  She took home 3 major trophies:  the Peoples Champ, the Rookie of the Year award, Made You Look Award (in honor of her outspoken style and crazy fashion flair.

In her acceptance speech Nicki said:  “Last year, I was here in anticipation of the cypher,” she explained to the crowd, referring to the freestyles that run between the award presentations and performances. “Now I’m here in anticipation of my debut album Pink Friday.  I’m paving the way for girls.  I wanna thank all the girls of hip-hop.

Jay Z picked up three trophies:  Perfect Combo (for “Empire State of Mind” featuring Alicia Keys), Cd of the Year (for the Blueprint 3), and Best Live Performer.

Rick Ross snatched 2 trophies: Track of the Year (for B.M.F. produced by Lex Luger), and Club Banger of the Year.
