Soul Train founder Don Cornelius committed suicide Wednesday morning (February 1, 2012) from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
During a recent press statement with Hip Hollywood LeToya Luckett, Keith Robinson, Reagan Gomez-Preston, Essence Atkins and Elise Neal expressed their shock about loosing such an influential icon.
Cornelius created Soul Train in 1971 and hosted the show until 1993. It was the “longest-running, first-run, nationally syndicated program in television history.” The show stop creating new episodes around 2006.
R.I.P. Don Cornelius, he was 75-years-old when he passed away.
