Kim Kardashian had a great run with the shoe brand Sketchers. She appeared in the 2011 Sketchers Shape-Ups Super Bowl commercial and brought an
enormous amount of attention to the company. That run has come to an end thanks to a French bulldog with no name.
After filing for divorce from NBA husband Kris Humphries 2 months into the marriage, Kim Kardashian received so much bad press that she’s loosing lucrative business deals left and right. Sketchers is the most recent company to axe the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality star.
Leonard Armato (President of Skechers Fitness) – “Kim got us more attention than we ever dreamed. We have to establish Skechers as more than a lifestyle company.”
While Kim was the brand ambassador and spokesmodel for Sketchers Shape-Ups the company received an increase in sales as-well-as an increase in following. The problem is, a website called BoycottKim.com listed all of her business deals and vow never to support the companies she represents. Sears, E! Network, Macy’s, and Tyler Perry’s upcoming film “The Marriage Counselor” are some of the projects the anti-kim website threatens to tarnish.
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban will appear in this years Sketchers commercial to launch a brand new high-tech running shoe for athletes to ‘supposedly’ enhance the image of Sketchers.
Mark Cuban (Dallas Mavericks NBA team owner) – “I’m not Kim Kardashian. But one of the things I do know is high technology and how to use it.”
