First She Denied Weird Al Yankovic, Now She Approved Him Because ? (video)

Weird Al Yankovic took her song and created one of his signature parodies. If you’re wondering who I’m talking about it’s… Lady Gaga.

Weird Al made a remix to Gaga’s ”Born This Way,” then called the record “Perform This Way.” He asked her management for approval, but unfortunately, her management didn’t like the idea and denied permission.

24 hours later Lady Gaga saw the video on YouTube and got excited. It turns out, Gaga’s management never asked Gaga for “her” permission. Her Management team proactively denied Weird Al without talking to her first. So Gaga contacted Weird Al’s management team and gave him permission directly.

One misunderstanding led to another, but the issue was resoslved and now Weird Al can make one of his signature parody videos to the song. And, because Gaga directly gave him permission, he also received the right to put the Parody record on his upcoming album.
